Ava for Mac

Help.

For installation, see the setup guide. To change your plan or connected Macs, open your account.

What can Ava do in the current beta?

Ava supports conversation, saved details you review, task history, computer and browser work you request, local reminders and schedules, and optional Voice on macOS 14 or later. Some tasks need more access or a decision from you; Ava shows when work is partial or blocked.

How do I open Ava?

Press Option–Space to open the side overlay. Open Dashboard for the full conversation, Actions, history, and settings. Control–Option–Space starts or ends a Voice session on supported Macs. Opening the overlay alone never turns on the microphone.

What does a scheduled task need?

Ava runs scheduled work locally. Your Mac, Ava, and its signed-in task engine need to be available at the scheduled time. A schedule does not authorize new account access or external actions by itself.

Can Ava send a message for me?

Ava can help prepare communication during a user-requested task when the needed access is available. Sending requires separate authorization. Do not rely on a schedule as permission to send.

What happens when my trial ends?

Your first Ava account includes 14 days of Full access. Without a paid Full plan, it becomes Ava Lite automatically. Use the same app and account. Lite keeps conversation and personality, but cannot access your screen, computer, apps, or scheduled tasks.

Can Lite help me reply to a message?

Yes. Paste the message into your conversation and ask Ava to draft a reply. Copy the response and send it yourself. Lite cannot read your inbox, view your screen, or send the reply for you.

What does Ava Full include?

The complete Ava product: conversation, computer access, supported app workflows, scheduled work, and all updates. macOS permissions and your authorization are still required for computer actions.

Why are there two sign-ins?

Your Ava account manages your plan and connected Macs. Your ChatGPT account powers Ava's conversations and tasks. Your ChatGPT plan, limits, and terms are separate from Ava's.

Does Ava watch my screen all the time?

Screen context is used for requested tasks when computer access is enabled. Full and Trial can request macOS Screen Recording and Accessibility permissions. Lite has no screen access or computer use, even if macOS permissions were previously granted.

Where does my information go?

The desktop app keeps task history, settings, schedules, and reviewed memory on your Mac. Text and selected context needed to answer or carry out a task are sent through the included AI engine to your account provider. Ava account and billing services store the information needed for sign-in, plan access, and connected devices. See Spade Creative’s privacy policy for the site’s policy.

How do I cancel or change billing?

Open Your account, then Manage billing. Review your subscription and available changes in the billing portal. Canceling a recurring plan takes effect according to the period shown there. When paid access ends, your account becomes Lite. A lifetime purchase is not a recurring subscription.

How do I change my Ava sign-in email?

Open Your account and use Change Ava email. Confirm the code sent to the new address. Changing the email shown in Stripe's billing portal changes only your billing contact; it does not change your Ava sign-in or activation email.

My upgrade has not appeared in Ava.

After checkout, return to your account and allow a moment for payment confirmation. Bring Ava online so it can refresh your access. If the account still shows the wrong plan, contact support with the email used at checkout. Never send passwords, sign-in codes, or payment card details.

I lost a Mac or do not recognize a connection.

Open Your account and disconnect the Mac. This revokes its account connection when it next checks in. Disconnecting does not erase the app or files stored on that device. Contact support if you need help securing your account.
